VETSports FAQ

Do you have any sporting events or teams in my area?

The easiest way to get involved is to visit our website at vetsports.org and click on your state and find out if there is a chapter leader in your region. If you see a leader in your area, you can contact them directly, if you don’t see a chapter listed in your area, you can reach out to our team at the HQ office and see how you can get involved.

If there isn’t a chapter in my area, how can I get involved?

1.   There are so many ways to get involved with VETSports. You can reach out to our HQ team and see about hosting a VETSports information event in your community and see how many veterans you can connect with. We can help you get started on creating a local VETSports information event.

2.   Start a Chapter: Decide you want to be a volunteer chapter leader in your area and host events for local veterans to join. Connect with our HQ team to see how to become a chapter leader

3.   Grab some VETSports gear from our website and join a local area team or league and be the face of VETSports at their events and get out and play.

4.   Follow our events page to see if there are any events in your area that are sponsored by VETSports.

5. Check out the VETSports Facebook Pages in your area

What sporting events do you offer?

We sponsor all types of sports and sporting events that are put together by your local level volunteer chapter leaders. These leaders connect with Veterans in their area and see what sporting events or leagues are available to them and they form teams for you to join. We currently have softball, soccer, disc golf, cornhole, basketball, bowling, and many more…

When I join a team how does VETSports help?

VETSports helps with league fees and we also help with jerseys. If a team is sponsored by VETSports you are required to wear VETSports gear on the playing field of the event we have sponsored. Your Chapter Leader will be responsible for getting funding requests to the HQ office.

Do I have to be a Veteran to join VETSports?

Yes, we require you to be active duty or a veteran to join VETSports but we also welcome family members and supporters to the VETSports nation.

What is required to be a VETSports Chapter Leader?

Commitment and Desire: This is a role for anyone who has the time to manage a team or multiple teams in their community. This person would need to commit a few hours per month and have the ability to connect with Veterans in their community to get them involved in VETSports events. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer chapter leader please reach out to our team at the HQ office.

If I want to host a one-time tournament how would I do that?

I suggest you reach out to our HQ office and see how you can host an event.

How do I help spread the word about VETSports?

1.   Get connected with other Veterans in your community and talk about our programs and services, share what we do and why we do it.

2.   Grab some VETSports Gear from our website and show people you support this great organization.

3.   Host a Veteran event in your area and get engaged.

Thanks for joining our town hall, we look forward to seeing you at VETSports events and hearing how you helped us grow in your community.

Being a part of VETSports is being a part of your community and getting connected to other veterans like yourself.
