Launched in 2015, VETSports University aimed to create an opportunity for VETSports members to go back to school to pursue a sports related career. It is an initiative that goes beyond traditional scholarships, offering a comprehensive package that includes internships and career support to help veterans achieve their professional goals in the sports industry.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VETERANS
One of the core aspects of VETSports University is the provision of scholarships for veterans. These scholarships provide financial assistance to veterans enrolled in sports-related degree programs, helping to alleviate the burden of educational expenses. Scholarships start at $2,500, with the potential for even higher amounts based on individual circumstances and funding availability.
CAREER SUPPORT
In addition to scholarships, VETSports University offers a dynamic and immersive internship program. This program provides veterans with the opportunity to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in their desired sports-related fields. Internships are available within VETSports itself, offering valuable insights into nonprofit sports organizations and the chance to work alongside dedicated professionals who are committed to supporting fellow veterans. We offer internships in various sports-related organizations, ranging from media and marketing to sports medicine and event management. These internships provide invaluable real-world experience and help veterans bridge the gap between academic learning and professional employment.

What are the requirements to get sponsorship?
To be eligible for sponsorship and participation in VETSports University, applicants must be veterans and enrolled in a sports-related degree program at a University/College. We encourage scholarship recipients to actively serve as liaisons between their universities and VETSports, fostering a sense of community and unity in advancing our mission.
What internships are available?
Thank you for your interest in internship opportunities at VETSports. VETSports is unlike any other veteran sport non-profit. We take pride in the fact that we are 99% volunteer based and 95% of our donations goes directly to our veterans and our mission. Internships play an important role in many students' future success. Our internships provides an hands-on experience learning across multiple sports related business aspects. Sports internships are the best way to bridge the gap between going to school and landing great job. A internship with VETSports can help provide valuable work experience by learning the ropes from more experienced professionals. At the end of your internship, you’ll have relevant experience to help you pursue your career in the sports industry. Currently, VETSports offers internships for those enrolled in sports related degree and can do a internship for 3 unit credit.

What if I want to intern but I’m not enrolled in school?
You are welcomed to apply but it is a non-paid internship for experience, volunteer hours, and help build resume. Internship will receive a recommendation letter from HQ office and President of VETSports.
